Defining Proficiency in the Arts
As of April 1, 2010, the Arts Grade Span Expectations (GSEs) were adopted by the Board of Regents. All schools should be using the Arts GSEs as a basis for curriculum and assessment, rather than older proficiency material. The Arts GSEs are the basis for creating curriculum that develops student proficiency in the arts.
